Quest, n. “A long and arduous search for something.”

KCSF is pleased to bring you once again the Quest 2022, this year in partnership with the Consulate General of the Republic of Korea in Toronto. Quest 2022 comprises a 3-week virtual and in-person program that allows you to explore your identity as a Korean-Canadian youth through conversations with experts on various topics, including mental health, cultural appreciation, and leadership development.

Each of the first three virtual webinar takes place once a week on Tuesdays from 7 to 8:30 PM and features speakers sharing their expertise in each area of topic.


Session Detail

Session 1 (June 7, 7 to 8:30 PM) - Personal identity & mental health

Speaker: Jae Kim (https://www.jaetherapy.com)

  • Bio: Jae (Jaeyell) is a social worker & psychotherapist providing counseling services to individuals and families in Toronto. He completed his Master's degree in Social Work at the University of Toronto, specializing in Health and Mental Health. Jae has a passion for helping youth and young adults going through a life transition and living with mental health challenges. He previously worked at Lumenus Community Services, helping youth and their families living with mental health challenges for the past 12 years, and currently works as a clinical supervisor at CloudMD and a part-time professor at George Brown College Social Service Worker program.

Session 2 (June 14, 7 to 8:30 PM) - Chaekgeori-making and cultural appreciation

Speaker: Jeannie Kim (jeanniekk.com)

  • Bio: Born in Daejeon, South Korea and raised in Oakville, Ontario, Jeannie Kyungjin Kim is an artist, educator and cultural worker who uses Korean materials in her contemporary artwork to research and interrogate historical methodologies. She holds a MA from Concordia University (Art Education), Hons BA from University of Toronto Mississauga and an AD from Sheridan College (Art and Art History). For more than six years, Jeannie has delivered diverse visual and digital art programs in the community and at the post-secondary level, teaching everybody from young children to seniors. She is currently the Education Coordinator at the Art Gallery of Burlington, where she oversees day-to-day operations of all educational programs such as camps, courses/workshops, and school visits. 

Session 3 (June 21, 7 to 8:30 PM) - Leadership development & skills

Speakers: Tae Joong (TJ) Park and Olivia Lee

  • Bio (TJ Park): TJ is currently a PhD Candidate in Mechanical Engineering at MIT, researching sustainable fuels for aviation and heavy-duty trucking, including biofuels, power-to-liquid, hydrogen, and battery electric sources. He is a former design engineer at GE (General Electric) Aviation with 5 years of experience in gearboxes and airfoils for jet engines used in military fighter jets, attack helicopters, and commercial aircraft. He holds an MS in Mechanical Engineering from MIT, funded by the GE Edison Engineering Development Program (EEDP), which investigated the environmental impact of electric vehicles. He completed a BS in Mechanical Engineering from Yale University. TJ currently resides in Boston, MA, USA, and previously hails from NY and Korea.

  • Bio (Olivia Lee): Olivia has been working in front of cameras and speaking on stage for over 23 years. With her degrees in digital marketing, certificates in social media, public relations, and communication, her ebook written on content marketing, podcast host of Content to Ca$hflow, now the former actress/singer turned her skills and passion into helping aspiring entrepreneurs find and reach their audience and get in front of their dream clients through webinars.
